American Family meets Chinese Family
this week's topic was on FAMILY. Students conversed about their families, and wrote a composition about a person in their family, and then I lectured about family in America. Popular interest was held on: who takes care of the elderly? at what age to children leave home? what does homosexual mean? what does the separation between church and state mean? how many children do Americans have?
Then, I illuminated the prolific amount of divorce by introducing my mother and her four siblings. 5 kids, 3 have been divorced, sometimes more than once. A few girls asked for Uncle Nino's email address. I told them he is hot and single.
Then I brought pictures of my immediate family, and introduced everyone. This specific approach of introducing my own family seemed to connect with them more than teaching them about American families in general. borrrrrring.
I took a poll on who was more handsome: Charlie or Victor?
Victor won hands down. Dad got some votes too! About as many as Charlie.
Don't feel bad guys, those Chinese girls like a fair-skinned man better.
Victor has about 200 Chinese girlfriends giggling over him here.
It's been a fun week.
