I wanted to take her home so badly!
What a perfect pug puppy.
where local produce, meats and puppies are sold.
To find a box like this outside my front door
was my dream of all dreams as a little girl.
As adorable as these puppies are, they come from a horrible industry. Ned and I saw maybe about 50 or more puppies at the open market on Saturday, and that market was just a small one. We saw full grown dogs in too-small cages that we presumed to be for sale as well, or were the breeders that produced litter after litter for their owners.
There is no such thing as Animal Rights in China, because there is no such thing as "Human Rights" in China. I felt bad for all the pooches there. As long as people buy puppies, the puppy market will continue....
but deep down in my heart of hearts I still want that pug puppy.
ah, oh well. such is the life of a traveler.
