This Saturday afternoon Ned and I leave for the Tongliao train station where we await Ms. Jin who is accompanying us to Beijing. She has a conference she needs to attend there this coming week. The train trip will take all night, 12 hours or so... I think, and we will all cuddle down into our sardine size sleepers and sleep the train-rattling night away.
When we arrive, a "comrade" of Mr. Zhang's will meet us at the train station with his car and drive us to the airport, where we will have breakfast. Our flight to San Francisco on Sunday leaves at 12:00pm to San Francisco. We arrive in San Francisco the next day at 8am, but it really is the same day: Sunday.
At the airport in San Francisco awaiting our connection, I have plans to order a large dark coffee, drink it, and refill it. Buy several trashy celebrity magazines and gorge myself on the gossip. Then, if possible I want to find some red vines to snack on, and wash then down with a cold diet coke. believe me, temptation requires no explanation!
Our connection to Albuquerque lands at 3pm where we'll be met at the airport by my parents, and I want to go directly to Saggios (sorry, not Frontier anymore) to eat a giant slice of chessy, green chile pizza. yum!
Thankfully, our visa papers have all arrived, so I believe the process of acquiring the visas will go very smoothly once we send them out on Monday. I'll be in Albuquerque for two weeks, and one weekend, and then back to China I go!
see you in the good 'ol U.S.A!
