homemade green chile stew.
The stew was made with potatoes, onions, garlic, green chiles, and pan seared pork. yum! it was good except the chiles weren't
that hot, so I had to put a handful of ground
red pepper in to make up for it.
These 2nd batch of photos are of a pizza
that Ned brought home. It had no tomato sauce, and minimal cheese. To make up for it, it had a thick layer of shredded onions, and carrots and then it was topped off with MORE onions and some green bell peppers.
It was delicious, but it definitely wasn't
pizza.
The only fast food restaurant in Tongliao is a KFC restaurant. My students think all American food
is like KFC. I told them that is not true, and that it would be impossible to recreate American food in China because some ingredients would be forgotten, and the utensils used to make it would be different, and besides, KFC is only one type of food in America. I told them all American food they know in China is really Chinese-American food, just like in America, we can eat at a Chinese restaurant but the dishes aren't the same as they are in China.
