Today is the shortest day of the year for the northern hemisphere.
The earth tilts us furtherest from the sun's rays on this day,
and so we get the least minutes of sunlight.
Today in Tongliao, the sun rose at 7:22am, (when I'm walking to school)
and this afternoon (notice I said afternoon) it will set at 4:17pm.
In celebration I am keeping a fire burning all day,
and all night.
An electric fire, that is. =)
Thank goodness for the two electric space heaters Ned bought.
May we all celebrate the slow pace of winter,
and take in a deep breathe into our spirits.
love,
stocking capped, thick sweatered, hot milk tea drinking
