good and bad news

I have had a whorl wind of a week here. Our internet has been down at home, but now we finally got the university to help us, and for the first time, our laptop works! yeah!
Ned and I traveled to Lubei, a small town 2 hours north for the Mid Autumn festival with my student Wei Wei, and were taken in by her warm, Mongolian/Chinese family. I will write more about this. I also started teaching my freshman students this week. they are so cute and smiley! such babies compared to the sophomores I teach. one of my sophomore classes threw Ned and I a party Tuesday night. I will write more about this too!
bad news is that, Ms. Jin gave me an incomplete address to send mail to, so our packages and letters may be lost in transit. also, good news is that I received an offical invitation from the government to work in China. bad news is that, I have to leave China to go to a Chinese embassy outside the country. we are having a meeting about this today. I refuse to fly back to the USA, and I refuse to pay for it, but I may not get what I want. Ned and I can probably fly to Hong Kong, Seoul, Ulanbaatar, or Tokyo, but we'll see. ah! details to come.
