I'm gonna start calling my blog,
American Girl in Thailand
because wow,
I feel far far far away from Tongliao, Inner Mongolia right now.
No sandstorms, no milk tea, no freezing weather, no students walking around buddled in down jackets and tall tall boots. no dumplings.
I am in paradise.
when I get over the initial shock and awe period, I will take some photos for you all.
In case you're wondering, paradise has first and last name...
It is Phuket, Thailand.
Ned and I arrived yesterday via small plane, and I promply shrieked, put on my swimsuit and walked down the 200 stairs to the beach and spent the next 3 hours in the crystal blue watered Andaman Sea (if you take the time you'll notice my name is in the word). we are staying at a motel on the hill overlooking the dazzling, under-crowded, only peppered by German, Italian and Swiss folk, most commonly over 50, and overweight with skin like leather hides.
Today we went on an early 2 hour walk on the beach, ate lunch, and are now planning on napping in our air conditioned room for the hottest part of the day.
Why do I work in Inner Mongolia?
Why not Thailand?
p.s. I've recovered from my cold.
